Cobble Hey Farm

After having to work on the original day we had planned to visit Cobble Hey Farm, the time finally came to go! On Sunday morning I was super excited because I had been waiting for ages and couldn't wait to get there. After a spot of lunch we wandered around the gardens before having a look at some of the animals. They had sheep, lambs, pigs, piglets, calfs and goats and they were all so cute! We got some food for the animals and a little lamb came up to the fence and nibbled it from our hands!

As I was already having a lot of fun we decided to go and see the lamb feeding in the main barn. The activities were mainly aimed at small children but I didn't care and got stuck in and got to hold a one week old piglet and bottle feed a lamb! We then got to stroke the softest rabbit ever and then take a goat for a walk! That's right, a goat!

I had so much fun seeing all of the animals and cannot wait to go back again!

Dublin

Last week me and Jamie ventured to Dublin for a few days. Everyone had warned us that it was going to be super expensive but we were pleasantly surprised as we didn't find it to be too costly! We spent most of the time wandering around the streets and down the river, we visited Trinity College, Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin Castle, the Ha' Penny bridge and St Stephens Green. We also spent one afternoon at the Guinness Storehouse which was really interesting and we even got to pour ourselves a pint of Guinness!

As Dublin is famous for Guinness we went to a few pubs to enjoy the local tipple, we even visited the oldest pub in Ireland, The Brazen Head Est.1198 which was cool. The nightlife in Dublin is mostly based in the Temple Bar area with bars, pubs, live music and lots of buskers. It's a very lively city and has a really good vibe and interesting mix of people.

Of course, like most of our trips, we ate a lot of food!! I had done a bit of research beforehand and we went to loads of funky places to eat. We had falafel, french pastries, ice cream, and burritos which were all incredible but the best place we went to was a vegetarian cafe called Cornucopia. We loved it so much we went twice!

The flights were quite cheap and only took half an hour to get there so I can see it being a city that I will most likely be returning to!

Feeling 22

Yesterday I turned 22. 22!! This number makes me feel incredibly old and I woke up thinking how is this possible when I still feel 15 inside. The fact that I had spent Friday visiting some friends still at uni made me pine for my teenage years and a life lacking responsibility. This said, I did however have a lovely weekend and a rather wonderful birthday. After about 2 weeks straight in work I had a day off and ventured up to Lancaster to visit some friends and celebrate their end of term. The night was so much fun and I got to have a catch up with loads of people!

On Sunday me and Jamie went to the chill factore in Manchester to go skiing and snowboarding. I was excited and extremely nervous as I hadn't been skiing in over 6 years but I managed to go from the top of the slope and I didn't fall once. An achievement I am quite proud of. We then had a wander around the Trafford Centre and stopped for smoothies and krispy kreme doughnuts, but not chocolate ones as it is still lent :( Wahhhh. The evening was spent having huge portions of veggie chili and having a big family film night watching the hunger games two!

As Jamie had to leave ridiculously early on Monday morning I got to open my presents from him on Sunday evening before heading to sleep. He spoilt me again and he even baked me a birthday cake!

My birthday day was quite uneventful, a morning shift at work followed by opening some cards and mooching online before getting ready for the evening. I asked some friends to celebrate at Revs for food and cocktails, which when food is 50% off on Mondays and cocktails are 2-4-1 nobody could complain! The food and drinks were delicious and we stayed for the quiz and came a respectable 5th place!!

I had a really great birthday!
