Mini break in Yorkshire

A few weeks ago me and Jamie spent a long weekend in a cosy cottage in Driffield, Yorkshire. The mini break was my Christmas present from Jamie and I had been looking forward to it for ages! We had a lovely time and it was just what we needed to get away for a bit and relax, away from the stress and busyness of work and life in general. The cottage itself was perfect, really cosy with a huge back garden complete with trampoline and hot tub! We obviously spent every evening relaxing in the hot tub before snuggling on the sofa watching some films and the beginning of the Winter Olympics.

During the day time we ventured to a few places nearby. Firstly we went to Scarborough for a wander about the town and the beach, people were actually surfing even though it was freezing! Crazy people! We stopped for dinner at the most amazing vegan cafe I have ever been to! It is called C-A-L-F cafe and everything on the menu is vegan and extremely delicious! The people who work there are all volunteers and the profits go toward an animal sanctuary that they run! The cafe is decorated amazingly and they sell little trinkets and clothing too!

The second day was spent exploring Whitby. I'm not sure why but I didn't imagine Whitby to be as nice as it was. We had a lovely afternoon wandering about the tiny streets and trinket shops and going to see the whale bone. We even had some fun in the amusement arcades playing on the slot machines and air hockey. We had dinner at an old bakery called humble pie 'n' mash, it was so tiny inside but really nice with yummy food.

We had such a lovely weekend and really didn't want to come home!
