Newquay

I've just got back from an amazing two weeks spent with my boyfriend Jamie and my Dad in Newquay in Cornwall. I love Newquay so much and it brings back so many childhood memories from all of our family camping holidays. Having had two years away from the place I couldn't wait to get there and was excited about the holiday for months! Jamie was excited too as he had never been to Cornwall before and I was looking forward to showing him loads of places! This year didn't fail to impress and surprise me and we had a fun filled (and exhausting) holiday! The main reason for going was to go to the boardmasters surf, skate, bmx and music festival. We got to spend a whole weekend chilling and relaxing in the sunshine watching the surf competition and listening to some really cool bands, it was perfect!
During our second week we decided to book a surf lesson, something that I've always wanted to do. It was so much fun and our instructor said that we picked it up really quickly, managing to ride a few waves each! We went on a 11 mile bike ride along the camel trail, a disused railway line, from Padstow to Wadebridge, went to the Healey's Cyder farm where they make the famous rattler cyder and went skatboarding, allowing Jamie to be reunited with his teenage hobby and for me to attempt to stay on the skateboard for more than five seconds!
The whole vibe of Newquay is chilled and relaxing and I love all of the little shops that sell little trinkets and the cool cafes hidden away down tiny streets that do tonnes of veggie and gluten free food! A particular favourite of mine is Cafe Irie with its mix matched furniture, funky decorations, retro magazines, chilled out atmosphere and amazing food!

The two weeks went way too quickly and I cannot wait to go back again. Cornwall is such a beautiful place and theres just something about it that makes me feel feel at home. Hopefully one day I'll get to live there, wishful thinking...

Road Trip!

Last weekend four of us, Jamie, Matt and Emma, had a little road trip to London! It was so much fun driving down, chilling and listening to music even though it was super hot and we were all melting! We parked the car just outside of London at Emmas Auntie and Uncles and had a lovely evening sat in the evening sunshine in their garden eating an amazing veggie curry before heading into the city centre. After an earlyish night we were all set for the busy weekend we had ahead of us! On the Saturday we headed down to the Olympic Park for a kind of mini festival. We got a spot near the stage and sat in the blistering sunshine listening to a few bands before the headline act came on. It was so much fun just chilling with 60,000 other people and it had such a cool vibe. The bands playing were Bears den, Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros, Haim, Ben Howard, Vampire Weekend and last but not least Mumford and Sons. They were all incredible! The next day we got to have a wander around some of the sights such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Trafalger Square before heading to a big screen to watch the Wimbledon final. We had just got a good spot and were all layed out and ready for the final when the screen broke!!! We rushed to get to another one but they were all full so we had to settle on not watching it and went for a wander around Notting Hill instead before setting off for the journey home. The weekend was so much fun :)

Roma

For my boyfriends birthday we went on a little trip to Rome for a few days. He had never been to Italy before, despite being part Italian, so what better place to go than Rome! It was also our one year anniversary which made it even more special. Rome is such a beautiful city and there is loads to do! I had been twice before but love the city so much I couldn't imagine never going back again, and we managed to do some different things that I hadn't yet done. We did most of the tourist things such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, the Vatican City, Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, Emmanuel monument, Villa Borghese and even managed to go to a beach not too far away by train! The weather was really nice and we had some lovely meals and romantic evening strolls, and not to forget ate lots of gelato!

End of the best three years ever!

After three amazing years my uni days are now over and I have moved back home! I've met so many incredible people, done lots of amazing things, become a more confident person, pushed myself to do my best and made life long friends! At first I thought that it was going to be really hard to leave, and it was, but now I have realised that you can't be a student forever and I'm looking forward to what the future holds :)
